The name

Why Derby

"Derby" in Melbourne street names, like Derby Street in Caulfield East, likely comes from the British colonial era, honoring Derby, England, or a British noble. This was common practice, connecting new settlements to the homeland.

Second branch

St Kilda

Derby Thai's second branch in St Kilda (Shop 2, 52 Fitzroy St) offers the same authentic Thai cuisine, fresh ingredients, and traditional recipes loved at their original Caulfield East location.

The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly spiced – just the way authentic Thai cuisine should be. The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. Cozy atmosphere with a great vibe. Highly recommend the Pad Thai and Green Curry! Will definitely come back.

I had the cashew nut with chilli jam and steamed rice, and it was delicious! The team are friendly, meals are great prices, and the food fresh. Definitely recommend it
